Martin Parr has been one of Britain's most celebrated documentary photographers since the early 1980's.
Parr's brightly coloured photographs make witty, astute comments on British and other cultures, tourism and consumerism.
They regularly appear in The Independent, The Guardian and galleries throughout Europe.

"It invites the comment 'It's not my cup of tea'. I don't think that has required a lot of skill, so I'm giving it half marks." Score: 10

"I'm curious to know if anyone else finds it irritating that the head of the lady so prominantly at the front has been chopped off? I wonder whether that was deliberate or done in the heat of the moment; and afterwards the photographer still liked it, in spite of that error?" Score: 15

"If I had been there I would have stood slightly to one side and placed the Sphinx on a third. It breaks the rules, but I don't think it gets any further having done that." Score: 11 |

"The photographer presumably just wanders nonchalantly around and seizes the right moment, like a British Cartier-Bresson. This is super: the arms reaching in; the kid is not quite sure if he should be be enjoying the icy cold muddy water and sitting on the concrete slab. It almost had to be set up, but I don't believe it was." Score: 18
